AUTHENTIC Vintage ANTIQUE Edwardian 1910s Black Velvet 。Edwardian Style Velvet Hat--we would place this in the 1910\'s or so. There are several unusual features to this antique hat. It is showing its age, so careful attention to the description and condition report. It has a 1 1/2\" rolled brim in black velvet with blue embroidered lines and berry clusters. The embroidered brim extends to the underside. The embroidery is not an unusual feature in Edwardian era hats. The 5 1/2\" tall, pulled taut, crown is in green faded velvet. The crown has \"scrunched\" over time to only about 2\" tall. One result is there is a variation in color tone depending upon how the folds landed over time. As worn, the hat is a faded medium green, the folds indicate the original color which was brighter. The crown is oval in shape. There is a 2 1/2\" wide black velvet ribbon covering the juncture between brim and crown. Nice detail--there is a cut-out felt leaf design at the front filled with blue chenille flower. At the back is a similar leaf cut-out without the flower. The interior is lined in black. Its inner band is velvet and shows wear. No labels are extant.
