1950s Jack McConnell Peacock Feather Rhinestone Hat - MRS 。This is truly an extraordinary hat from famous designer JACK MCCONNELL. The hat is made with netting shaped into a \"bubble\", and covered in beautiful ivory/black curly edged feathers. Feathers of this age are fragile, and can become dislodged, but can be glued back on. This hat needs careful handling. Some glue marks are hardly noticeable, and add to the stunning look of the era. He served three years in the Coast Guard during World War II. While stationed at Staten Island, he was dating a woman who was a hat designer. He decided to try making a hat himself and succeeded. He went into millinery designing and learned by making model hats for Laddie Northridge, an acclaimed milliner.At one time he was referred to as the \"King of Millinery\".He designed hats for movie stars such as Joan Crawford and Lana Turner.
